Book It! This might be a Repost

I have some scans on my computer, which means I likely haven't shown these yet.  When I usually post stuff I delete the scans or photos, or move them to my blog folder which I clear at a later date.  So since these aren't in that folder it appears I haven't shown them off yet.

I'm feeling a bit better but still won't do a long post today.  Today's post will be on books I've gotten recently.  One of them I am actually reading.  Very slowly, but I am reading it.  So let's take a look at some books I deemed were good enough to get (from Savvy Seconds) but not in the mood to read yet.

Not getting religious on here, but I do like Billy Graham.  I will probably read that book soon.  I'm not as big of a fan of Pat Robertson, but sometimes I do listen to him on 700 Club.  While lately it seems a lot of the stuff he says is crazy, he has had some points I agreed on in the past.  I also needed one last book to pick up so I just grabbed it.

I don't know, I just grabbed it as well.  This was a couple months ago, I'm sure I had reasons.

I'm not much on fiction, but it sounded interesting.  Not sure if it will be interesting enough for me to read though.

It seems like I already posted these, but maybe not.  This one besides the Billy Graham one is the one I'll most likely read.  I won't say I was a big Gary Carter fan, but I do remember when he passed I never heard an unkind word about him, and all the stories told were nice, so when I saw this I was really interested.

So with those five books I paid a quarter.  One day I might get around to reading them, or they will be at my next garage sale.  If I do read them, maybe I'll do a report on here, who knows.

There is one book though I got recently that did catch my eye enough to actually want to read.  It was actually one I wanted to read since it came out, and I'm about 3 quarters of the way through it and it hasn't disappointed me yet.

While this isn't the updated version that was re-released after they won the World Series last year, its still a good book.  Dayton Moore is the General Manager of the Kansas City Royals, and he talks about his life growing up in Kansas though his years with the Atlanta Braves to his GM position in Kansas City until the end of the 2014 season.  He goes into detail the process it took to make the Royals rise from the cellar into AL Central contenders to potential World Champions (I would like to know what the updated version includes too).

Moore is a very spiritual man and he's very positive in this book.  Currently I'm reading about when they had to send Alex Gordon back to the minors and also moved him from third to left field.  Moore praises a lot of players and coaches and gives most of the credit to the success to everyone else.  They only thing negative I've really seen in it wasn't really negative but it seems he regretted the Joey Gathright trade, which was interesting since I liked Joey, but I don't know it seemed somewhere along the line Moore had a sour taste in his mouth from the trade, I'm not sure if he blamed himself, his scouts or Gathright, but he didn't go into as much detail as he did on other topics.

Even though I haven't finished the book yet, I do recommend it if you are a baseball fan.

So with that I'll wrap it up for today, I've been working on some other stuff today and even working on blog stuff too and would like to get a bit more done tonight before Scorpion comes on, its one of the rare shows I like to watch as its on TV.  So thanks for reading and have a great day.
