Box Busted

I didn't see anything at Walmart a few weeks ago and I kind of wanted some cards.  I should have got a blaster of Update just to build it some, but instead I got  the box of packs I've shown off a few times already.  I figured at worst I'd get a hobby pack and who knows, maybe something good.  Let's take a look.

Got another one of these, and now when I use my display shelf it will look nicer with these on it.  These seem to be the highlight of the box now.

I can't be upset with a Frenchy card or a mini of Stargell, so this was a good pack.  Both are keepers.

Not a bad pack either.  I collect Tepesch so that was good to pull, and some other good names too.  In all the packs I've opened, I've never pulled one like the Ryan Ludwick.  I never even heard of the Robbed in Left set or whatever its called.  It was a nice card to pull.

It wouldn't be a box without a crap ton of Triple Play cards.  I have never liked A.J. Prickzynski but it was one of the better names in the pack.  The best card might be the miscut Buster Posey card.  The back is miscut too and it would throw the entire puzzle off.  It's a keeper for sure.  I got a couple more Pujols and the Miggy is a keeper too.  At some point I might be able to complete some of these puzzles.

YIKES!  I didn't expect the George Brett card.  I was hoping to get it at some point, but never expected to pull it.  I don't get how they made such an effortless set but had such an excellent insert set.

A couple sticker cards and another A-Rod, but one I already had, so nothing really great.  I'm just happy to get the Brett card.  I think the Babe Ruth cards were new ones too, I scanned it with these just because I didn't have room on the other scan with all the other Babe cards.

This set just does nothing for me.  I think mainly because I'm not a huge fan of the Babe.  I think a smaller set would be good though.  I wouldn't mind a Clemente set or maybe make a set of the best players by decade.

I've gotten use to these cards, and was happy to get two Royals.  I hope Finnegan is a big star in the majors even if he is no longer a Royal.  I hope Foster Griffin makes a name for himself too.  I think this was a really good pack.

I've really taken a liking to this set.  I like the design a lot.  I doubt I'd ever finish the set, but pulling these packs are fun.  I'm happy I got the Schwarber and the Lindor cards, as it really helped the value of this box.

Overall, I think I should stop getting these boxes for a while, but I still think they have value.  The 2017 Topps design hasn't given me a lot of interest so I doubt I get many of them next year, so I'll wait and see what other products Walmart might add soon and figure it out then.

Thanks for reading, and I should have my COMC cards posted this week and a couple others to show too.  I fell behind my goal for the year, so I have to work hard to catch up, but I'm still in good shape.  Thanks for reading and I hope everyone is warm and safe after this weather this weekend.

  1. What type of repack box is this and does each one come with a magnetic?

  2. Here is a previous post with photos of the box, you left a comment on that post as well. Every box I've gotten has had the magnetic, though its not really advertised on the box.

  3. I started putting my higher end cards in those one touch magnetics several years back. Love them! If you are patient you can find eBay lots of used ones for good deals.
