If you wanna be an interior decorator now that's none of my business...

So this quote popped in my head when thinking of today's title.

Jake Taylor: What I was concerned with was why you didn't come up with that grounder that Rockert hit in the 9th
Roger Dorn: It was out of my reach, what do you want me to do dive for it?
Jake Taylor: Rog, it could have meant the game!
Roger Dorn: oh come on cut the rah rah sh   Taylor! Year after this I go free agent. Plus me and my agent got a couple of plans for life after baseball. So I am not about to risk major injury or displace this property for a collection of stiffs!
Jake Taylor: Ya know Dorn, I liked you so much better when you were just a ballplayer. If you wanna be an interior decorator now that's none of my business. But some of us still need this team. Now you listen to me! This is my last shot at a winner and for some of the younger guys it could be their only shot. I don't know what happened to you. But if you ever, ever tank another play like you did today, I'm gonna cut your n  s off and stuff em down your f    n throat!

 Coffee, anyone?

So anyways, the point is if you haven't (man, another Major League quote, this from Harry Doyle: "and judging by the attendance you haven't") I have started work on the redesign.  In my head it looked better, but I have been working on it for 2 months, and to my amazement last night went fairly smooth switching things over.  I know I still have work to do and update may pages so they don't say COMING SOON or UNDER CONSTRUCTION or something to that effect, but I think most of the major headaches are out of the way.  So in the weeks to come you might see a few more changes, and if you spot anything wrong, let me know.  I know I have an issue with some arrows or pointers that I need to figure out, but as far as anything else, I'm not seeing it yet. I've been backing things up along the way in case I make a major mishap and screw it up, but so far so good.

I'm not 100% pleased with the way everything turned out, but it was better than some other options I looked at.  I didn't want it to look like a photo or video blog, and I really preferred a basic look as opposed to some real fancy ones.  I'm a laid back guy who talks about pieces of cardboard and going to antique malls, flashy isn't really my thing.

One thing you may have noticed is that I didn't switch to Disqus.  For the last two years I've toyed with switching the comments section over in what I would imagine to be a way to secure comments, but honestly, I'm fine with what I have now.  I don't want people switching over if they don't have to, and I value my regulars who comment often more than one I could potentially gain by drive by comments.

I know sometimes change sucks, but honestly if I didn't have the built in readers I do now, I could see myself switching it up every week.  I don't like looking at the same stuff all the time, so I like fresh ideas, even if they are basic.  For the most part though, most of the changes are done.

I am working on all the added pages I now included at the top and when I finish with those I might devote a post on them to talk about them.  I know its a lot more tabs to click, but I think in the long run it will be easier to sort through.

In the meantime, like I said, if you see something you think is worth grabbing my attention, leave a comment or tweet me and let me know.  What I need the most help with is if the layout on the mobile devices are okay.  I don't have a way to check it out as I do all this through a laptop or a desktop, so I'm pretty blind when it comes to the mobile aspect.  I did change it a bit last night as it needed some update.  Throughout the weekend I hope to be working on more of the site, and just in case I don't blog this weekend, just know I'm not taking a breather.

When I do post again, I still have quite a few posts to do so I think the rest of August will be pretty busy, in addition to the rest of the year.  So thanks for reading and have a great weekend.  As for me, if I need to take a break, I'll likely be on Youtube watching music videos or concerts.  I love looking at late 90s rock, especially of bands I've seen live.  I might need to look for some Better Than Ezra a little later.  Anyways just some friendly advice...

  1. It's a nice change. And if that post title isn't click bait in the blogroll, nothing is. :)
