After a great start yesterday, let's see if today's comic book can match it?
Uhh, it doesn't look like it. I found nothing good from this issue, so I guess we have another comic to look at. Its a shame really. I never heard of Star Brand, so I'm not sure what to expect from it.
This is from a free comic book day promotion. I usually want to go to get a free comic book, but I never do. Its nice they have ones that people might know about. Time for more Spiderman! I got one ad from this one worth showing.
Of course its for their own products, but still, I never heard of House of M so this was interesting to me.
So far I'm striking out today. Luckily I have one more to show which had a couple ads to show.
This looks interesting, and an anniversary issue, so maybe some good ads, let's see.
Oh man, now I want Crunch & Munch. I might see if any of the posters are on Ebay. Hope they had a Daredevil one. I will stick with Cracker Jack though and get the crappy stickers they have now. It's tough to put posters in a little package.
Seems like Boz was hawking baseball cards after a unsuccessful football career. I have a few of these Pinnacle cards, and I like them. It would have been fun to get the Rockies and Marlins sets, but I'm sure they can be found rather easily today.
This seemed a bit odd product placement, but I do like the ad. Stridex went to great links to advertise in the 90's, I'm not even sure if they are in business today.
I don't get it. "The First CD-Rom game that is a Cartridge"? I never heard of it, but I'm not losing sleep over it either.
Why does Bob Hoskins look like Dom DeLuise in this ad? We finish up a stinker of comics with a stinker of a movie. I remember watching it once, but don't remember it at all. I think its tough to make a good movie based off a game, but a few have pulled it off I guess. Let me go on record and say that the new movie Pixels will be horrible without ever seeing it.
So day two isn't as good as the first, but I think we'll bounce back as the week wears on. Thanks for reading and have a great night.
Is that a naked flying baby?
ReplyDeleteIt's the Ghost of Christmas Past.
DeleteWow, I've been reading comics for a number of years, but I'd never heard of The Star Brand. Turns out it's from the 1980's, and I wasn't reading then. Just from the cover it looks bad.
ReplyDelete"House Of M" was a MAJOR CROSSOVER EVENT, but it involved the X-Men (who never did anything for me) so I largely ignored it. It had something to do with some temporary retcon that had the Mutants as the dominant species while mankind was subservient. Sort of a "What if...?" scenario, only it played out in the Marvel universe.
I've been reading comics since I was 5 days old (well, they were read to me then, but you know what I mean) and I've never heard of Star Brand either.
ReplyDeleteThe video game ad...that was apparently the first time they put a computer game on a console. Nowadays it's fairly common to have a game across multiple platforms, but that wasn't the case back then.
